چکیده

• The influence of different Household Food Wastes fractions on VFA was investigated. Fractions rich in proteins and starch led to the highest yield (12–15 g/L). cellulose, fibers, sugars showed low production (<2 Metagenomic analysis HFW VFAs conducted. bacterial community compositions profile correlated. Volatile Fatty Acids Production by Anaerobic Fermentation of Urban Rganic Wastes

During six months of experimentation, a plug-flow system without recirculation was employed to study the volatile fatty acids (VFA) production by means of anaerobic fermentation of urban organic wastes. Results showed an important VFA production at mesophilic range of temperature (37°C). Particulary, VFA concentration in the outlet sludge went from 11.8 g/L at 2 days of retention time up to 23....

Kinetics of volatile fatty acids and hydrogen production during anaerobic digestion of organic waste material

This short paper describes the changes in VFA and hydrogen production in time, during an anaerobic microbial digestion where the organic waste material was given as a substrate. The experiment showed that the reaction run most efficiently between 6 and 10th hour of the reaction time. This can be an indicator for future experiments on VFA and hydrogen production optimisation.

A review: factors affecting excess sludge anaerobic digestion for volatile fatty acids production.

This paper presents a review of methods that improve the production of volatile fatty acids (VFA) from excess sludge during the anaerobic digestion process. These methods are mainly divided into two approaches. The first approach is located in the pre-treatment methods, which change the properties of the substrates, such as thermal pre-treatment, alkaline pre-treatment, microwave pre-treatment ...
